Field ReportDelaware Bay Class: Gauge Lands His Biggest Striper Yet
Ten years old, four years of dawn patrols, and a bass thick enough to test both arms. Dad coached the drag. Gauge did the rest.

“Faith, family and service are the spine of this brand — the fishing and hunting are how it gets shared, and that is key.”
Gilch put a rod in Gauge's hands before he could tie his own shoes. Since then it's been pre-dawn drives, cold hands, tangled line, and the kind of patience you only learn from a parent who keeps showing up.
At 10, Gauge handles species most adults won't touch — snapping turtles, snakes, big striped bass — calmly, safely, and with respect for the animal. That didn't happen by accident. It was taught, season after season, by his father.

Handling & release training
Tagging, hunting, teaching others

Summer mornings knee-deep in cold Jersey water, reading seams and current for stocked and wild trout.

Big snapping turtle documented and returned to the bay. Handling starts with respect and the right grip.

October color, chest waders, and a stringer earned by working the whole shoreline instead of one easy hole.

Years of Pennsylvania range time and safety drills behind him, Gauge is now old enough to hunt New Jersey. His first Garden State deer is coming soon.

The team tags and releases fish so biologists get movement and growth data from real Jersey water. On land, they document snake species across the state — from northern water snakes to timber rattlers — teaching identification instead of fear.
Measured, logged, returned to the water alive.
17 of 22 NJ species documented — look, learn, leave them be.
State parks, WMAs and creeks explored on foot.
Gilch serves as a missionary, traveling to parts of Kenya to help communities in need. It's the same principle he teaches Gauge on every trip: show up, do the work, leave the place better than you found it. Faith, family and service are the spine of this brand — the fishing and hunting are how it gets shared.
Mission trips supporting communities in Kenya.
Ethical harvest, catch-and-release, clean water and clean woods.
Raising the next generation of outdoorsmen the right way.
Brands that ride along, fuel the trips and outfit the team.
G&G is a family-first outdoor brand with an authentic story sponsors can stand behind: a father teaching his son, real New Jersey water and woods, conservation work, and service overseas. Product placement, field testing, event appearances and co-branded content available.
